Where this work goes

Three markets, chosen because they share one requirement: an interconnect that has to keep working after it is installed somewhere nobody can easily reach.

1.0

Aerospace

Aerospace interconnect is not distinguished by being harder to build. It is distinguished by the fact that the record has to be as good as the part — a harness nobody can trace is a harness nobody can certify, however well it was made.

Aerotier is being set up around that from the start, in Connecticut’s aerospace corridor, where the supply base and the skills already are.

  • Airframe and systems harnesses built to drawing and revision
  • Avionics and instrumentation cable assemblies
  • Ground support and test equipment interconnect
  • Panel, enclosure and backplane assembly
  • Class 3 acceptance where the drawing calls for it
  • Per-serial build record delivered with the unit
2.0

Automotive

Development and motorsport programs run on a different constraint: the design is still moving, quantities are small, and the loom is needed before the drawing has finished settling down.

That suits a manufacturer built for revision control and short runs rather than one optimised for a hundred thousand identical parts.

  • Prototype and development harnesses
  • Motorsport and test-cell looms
  • Instrumentation and data acquisition cabling
  • Low-volume and pre-production build
  • Engineering change absorbed under revision control
  • Repeat builds to a frozen revision when the design settles
3.0

Defense

Defense is squarely in Aerotier’s plan, and it is the market this capability set points at most directly. It is also the market with the highest bar to entry, and that bar is not one a supplier talks its way over.

So the position is straightforward: defense work will be quoted as the registrations and qualifications that work requires are obtained, and not before. Until then we are glad to talk, and we will tell you exactly where we are.

Current position

Aerotier is not registered for federal contracting and is not registered with the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls at this time, and we do not accept ITAR-controlled technical data. The quality sheet states the full position, including the parts where the answer today is “no”.
