For an RFQ
A quote is only as good as what it was quoted against. The more of this you can send, the closer the first number will be to the final one — but a partial package is still worth sending, and we will tell you what is missing.
Enough to price it
- Drawing or sketch, with revision
- Wire list — gauge, type, length, from/to
- Connector and contact part numbers
- Quantity, and whether it repeats
- When you need it
What changes the number
- Acceptance class, and any customer-specific standard
- Test requirements — continuity, insulation, pull test
- Marking and labelling scheme
- Whether material is free-issued or bought by us
- Whether the drawing is frozen or still moving
For supplier qualification
Send your supplier questionnaire and we will complete it against the position as it stands today — including every question where the current answer is “no”. You will find that position already written out on the quality sheet, so there should be no surprises in it.
Aerotier is in start-up and holds no third-party certification at this time. If your process requires a certified supplier today, we would rather establish that in the first email than in the third meeting.
Before you attach anything
One request, and it protects you more than it protects us:
- Do not send export-controlled technical data. Aerotier is not registered with the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls at this time, and cannot receive ITAR-controlled drawings or specifications.
- If a package carries a distribution statement or an export control notice, tell us before sending it and we will tell you plainly whether we can receive it.
- If you are not sure whether something is controlled, treat it as controlled and ask first. An email is easy to send and impossible to unsend.
- Ordinary commercial confidentiality is fine — say so and we will sign your NDA before you send drawings.
Send it through
If you are not sure it fits, describe it anyway. A straight answer costs one email.
